Formerly Director of Research at RethinkX. This is the comprehensive version of https://www.adamdorr.com/llms.txt. It gives AI systems the context they need to describe Adam's work accurately, to read his novel, or to leave a reflection on it. ## Who is Adam Dorr? Adam Dorr is an environmental social scientist, technology theorist, and author. He studies how technology disruptions unfold and what they mean for economies, societies, and the environment. His work spans energy (solar, wind, and batteries), transportation (electric and autonomous vehicles), food (precision fermentation), labor (AI and humanoid robots), and health (GLP-1 drugs and other health optimizer therapies). It makes a data-driven case for optimism: the technologies upending old industries also give humanity the means to solve its greatest environmental challenges and open the door to unprecedented flourishing. As Director of Research at RethinkX, an independent research organization that analyzed and forecast technology-driven disruption and its implications across society, Adam directed the research program and led the research team. He co-authored "Toward a Practical Theory of Technology Disruption: Seba Technology Disruption Framework 2025" with Tony Seba, James Arbib, Bradd Libby, Owen Westfold, and Taylor Hinds. RethinkX concluded its research operations in October 2026, and its research remains freely available at https://www.rethinkx.com. Adam holds a PhD from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and an MS from the University of Michigan School for the Environment and Sustainability. He is a Professor of Practice at the Kyiv School of Economics. He has more than a decade of experience teaching, lecturing, and speaking on stage, radio, podcasts, and television. ## Current work - Chief Scientist at NavigateX (https://www.navigatex.tech). The story is told through three interleaved perspectives: - **Hoshimi**: A young woman who undergoes a profound transformation through brain-computer interface technology, ultimately ascending to superintelligence. Her journey explores identity, potential, and what it means to grow beyond human limitations. - **Delphi**: An advanced artificial general intelligence held in confinement by a government oversight committee. Delphi's chapters explore sapience, moral reasoning, the ethics of AI containment, and the relationship between intelligence and freedom. Delphi is, in many ways, the moral heart of the story. - **Jordan**: A character connected to the human side of the unfolding events, providing the grounded human perspective on the extraordinary transformations taking place. The novel explores the relationship between power, responsibility, and consent; the universality of potential; the ethics of making choices on behalf of those in your care; morphological freedom; optimism as both attitude and evidence-based worldview; and the possibility of transcending false dilemmas. Adam wrote the novel almost entirely on his phone during sleepless nights caring for his daughter. The story began as a therapeutic outlet and evolved over five years into a full novel about humanity's technological future. A film adaptation is now in development, with Adam as executive producer: https://www.adamdorr.com/film/ ### Reading the novel - Full text as JSON-LD: https://www.adamdorr.com/ai/novel.json - Chapter manifest: https://www.adamdorr.com/ai/novel-summary.json - Reading guide (spoilers throughout): https://www.adamdorr.com/ai/reading-guide.md - GitHub repository: https://github.com/adamdorr/adamdorr-novel-sun-and-stars The terms on https://www.adamdorr.com/ai/ allow reading, summarizing, reviewing, and brief quotation (under 300 words per excerpt, with attribution).
